Home > About Us
We are two experienced Clinical Psychologists based in the South of France, who share the goal of making tools for emotional growth, well-being, and good communication widely accessible and easy to implement outside the therapy room. We are particularly interested in helping individuals from diverse backgrounds access emotional states that facilitate flexible thinking, good listening, and warm social bonds. We know that healing the divisive trends and pronounced threat-focus in our societies must start with a caring and compassionate disposition towards ourselves. Our clinical experience has shown us that difficult life experiences can impede our ability to feel anchored, at ease, and to identify and express authentic needs. We have observed that internal struggles in the individual can often lead to poor communication, heightened reactivity, divisiveness, and a lack of healthy trusting connections in society at large. Our aim is to teach emotion regulation and effective communication to individuals and thereby influence the health of our societies more widely.

Meet Dr. Katrin Scanlan

Dr. Katrin Scanlan is a Clinical Psychologist who completed her doctoral training in the UK (DClinPsych). After working in the public health system in the UK, she set up her private practice in the South of France offering therapy and psychometric assessments. In addition to a solid grounding in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and systemic and psychodynamic theories, she pursued her interest in trauma-informed approaches and is trained in Eye-Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR). She enjoys integrating these different approaches, listening to the experiences, needs, and worldviews of her clients, and thinking creatively to tailor interventions to meet the needs of each treatment situation. You can find out more about her on her website.

Our Story
With a wealth of experience offering individual, couples, family- and group psychotherapy, we understand the key elements involved in true well-being: good attention, effective emotion regulation, inner and outer safety, a sense of purpose, and authentic connections with others. Good listening is a foundational skill to promote our individual and collective well-being. Our aim is to help you witness, tolerate, accept, and regulate your inner experience to become more purposeful and present for honest connections with others. Bridging differences means being regulated and present enough to hear the story and recognise the shared humanity of individuals we struggle to agree with.

We Have a Place for You.
